Templeton 4 Year Old presents a beautiful amber hue with golden highlights, reflecting its maturation in new flame-charred American oak barrels.
Aroma
The nose is relatively subdued yet intriguing, offering grassy, dry, natural spices with dusty, woody notes complemented by hints of peach pudding and apple mint. This aromatic profile sets the stage for the whiskey's distinctive character.
Palate
Medium to full-bodied, the palate reveals hints of butterscotch, caramel, toffee, and allspice, with the traditional rye attack slightly tempered by an underlying sweetness. The lingering and slightly chewy body delivers a wonderful balance between clean and silky smooth, whilst the finish offers vanillan oak and muddled mint. Mellow and approachable, this straight rye whiskey drinks more like a lightly ryed bourbon or a rye-malt, making it exceptionally versatile at 40% ABV.
