Successchrijver Pieter Aspe duikt in het koloniale verleden van België. In Frankrijk wordt een pelgrim die te voet onderweg is naar Santiago de Compostela vermoord. De boeteling blijkt afkomstig uit Brugge en zo raakt de onvolprezen commissaris Pieter Van In bij de moordzaak betrokken. Via het onderzoek komt Van In in contact met een bekende Brugse familie met een verleden dat teruggaat tot het Belgische koloniale tijdperk. De recent overleden grootvader was namelijk de leider van een huurlingenleger dat de zelfstandigheid van de rijke provincie Katanga moest bevechten. Het gerucht gaat dat hij voor zijn militaire prestaties meer dan rijkelijk beloond werd door het Katangese regime. Toch leefde onze held in Brugge zeker niet in grote welstand en sterft hij veeleer in eenzaamheid. Dan duiken er documenten op die gewagen van een goudschat. De hebzucht van de familie kent geen grenzen meer… Wordt de schat gevonden en wat is het verband met de raadselachtige moord op de Brugse pelgrim?

Real steel pipe

This pipe table leg set was great. It's real steel pipe like from the hardware store. It does have a layer of oil on it so that must be stripped using dawn or some other degreaser before handleing and painting. It is also offset in the middle bar so if you use it as a desk you get more leg clearance. I used it as a table base so I bought matching middle braces to set the middle support in the center of the table. Once together it looks great. I highly recommend getting this if you want a good quality pipe base.
