Cornflower Mountain Bluet Centaurea Montana is a hardy perennial native to European mountains. The Mountain Bluet Cornflower seeds can be started indoors or outdoors, and also called Mountain Cornflower or Perennial Cornflower, this compact, clumping plant variety has silvery-green foliage with slightly hairy flower stems that bear true blue, uniquely shaped, fringed flowers with reddish-black centers. Mountain Cornflower starts to bloom in spring, and the bloom continues well into midsummer. 

Cornflower Mountain Bluet is an outstanding border or bedding plant, and this dependable and rugged perennial flower is also one of the best choices for mass planting in naturalized areas. Centaurea Montana seeds germinate fast, and Perennial Cornflower likes to grow in full sun and moist, well drained soil tolerating drought and dry, poor soil.
