Dzongsar Monastery belongs to Sakya lineage and was founded by Chögyal Pakpa on his return from China in 1275. Before this it had been a Nyingmapa and a Kadampa monastery which has a history of 1300 years that educating the Five Sciences of Buddhism including Tibetan Medicine.
